The rocky shores of the Gulf of Finland are home to a subspecies of the bladder campion (Silene vulgaris var. littoralis). In addition to the southern shore of Finland, it can only be found on the shores of the Gulf of Finland in Estonia and Russia.

The calyx of the bladder campion looks deceptively similar to an angler’s float.
