If you want to spot the gold flowers of the alternate-leaved golden saxifrage (Chrysosplenium alternifolium), keep an eye on the edges of wet ditches and paths in Mustavuori and Central Park in the spring.

Favouring clay-rich areas in southern Finland, the alternate-leaved golden saxifrage blooms early in the spring and is eventually obscured by other plants in the summer. The alternate-leaved golden saxifrage has traditionally been used to help find water veins. Its seedlings are sold at gardening shops.
