The beautiful, blue-flowered peach-leaved bellflower (Campanula persicifolia) is very particular about its habitat. In Helsinki, sites sufficiently rich in nutrients to support it can be found mainly in the south-east, on Vallisaari island, Kuninkaansaari island, in Laajasalo and in Vuosaari. In western Helsinki, it can only be found on Seurasaari island and in Maunula.
The peach-leaved bellflower flowers in July. White-flowered individuals can also occasionally be found. The impressive peach-leaved bellflower is also used as an ornamental plant.
